reTHINK your approach...

Wednesday 22nd March 2012

Eating, weight and shape issues are common concerns to both men and women. A negative body image generally leads to feelings of anxiety, distress and sadness. This group is about learning to appreciate oneself and one’s body whilst learning the best possible ways to enhance well-being, including weight loss where necessary.
Research indicates that stress, anxiety and depression can be alleviated through food, exercise and psychological therapies. This course will help you RETHINK these three areas – food, exercise and emotions.
You will learn how to:
  • distinguish between hunger and emotional eating whilst understanding the origins of such behaviour
  • incorporate gentle exercise into your life while learning that food can actually be enjoyed.
  • criticize food and exercise myths whilst learning to love your body and yourself
  • use psychological techniques that will help you to alleviate anxiety, one of the main causes of emotional eating
  • develop a long-term plan in order to be able to maintain these changes over time
The aim of these sessions is also to abolish myths commonly associated with the the search for a quick fix or miracle solution when it comes to weight loss or aesthetic or dietary issues. 'Bite size' changes over a period of time are easier to cope with than large drastic modifications in lifestyle.  Big, sudden changes tend to result in 'yo-yoing'. We hear of people starting an impossible exercise program or new dietary approach which is extreme.  This can be unhealthy as well as unsustainable.
An open day is going to be held on Friday, 9th March 2012 at Klinika San Guzepp from 4:00 pm onwards with Dr. Dorothy Scicluna, Dr. Mario Caruana and Mr. Jeremy Ellul being present to answer your questions. For more information please email info@klinikasanguzepp.com or call 21416789
